LHS Identification System for North American Lines
The LHS has assigned a letter identification (ID) to Livesay/ey immigrants when their
identification and proof of North American immigration period can be established. This system
is separate from any identification system of English ancestry remaining in the UK. Additional
lines will be added when identified. Every attempt is made to integrate these lines with the
place or origin and their families. New lines will be added when identified.
Broken or incomplete lines are listed without a number at present.
A Thomas Livesay, of Feniscowles old Hall, Blackburn, Lancashire, England, and Pittsylvania, Henry
and Franklin Counties, Virginia

B Thomas Livezey, Quaker, of Cheshire, England, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His descendants
founded the Livezey Association in the early 1900's. He received a grant and purchased land from William
Penn.

C Robert Livesay/ey, said to have come to Bergen County, New Jersey, from Holland. Some
sources suggest that he is a descendant of Sir Michael Livesay of East Church, Kent, England.

D John Livesay, Prince George County, Virginia, by 1704, came to Henrico County, Virginia, by 1697.
William Lifsey of Brunswick County, Virginia, ancestor of the Lifseys of Southeast Virginia, North Carolina
and Georgia may be descended from this John Livesay.

E Henry Livesey, Over Darwen, Lancashire, England, and New York. His descendants were stone
masons and builders, settling in Wisconsin and Nebraska.

F Buckley Livsey, Manchester, Lancashire, England, and Warrenton, Missouri. His port of entry was
New Orleans, Louisiana.

G John Livesay, father of Gershom Livesay, of France and London, England, then Fairfield,
Connecticut, Chemung County, New York and Lewanee County, Michigan.

H James Livesey, native of Blackburn, Lancashire, England, came to the Pueblo area of Colorado
during the 1870's. He settled with his brother, Thomas John, in the Arkansas River Valley. They were
descendants of the Feniscowles Old Hall branch of the family in the Pleasington area of Blackburn.

I Thomas John Livesey, native of Blackburn, Lancashire, England, came with his brother, James, to
the Pueblo area of Colorado, where they owned and operated a very large ranch in the Arkansas River
Valley. They were descendants of the Liveseys of Feniscowles Old Hall.

J Tom Livesey, of Earby, Lancashire, England, came to Canada in the 1953. He is a descendant of
Joseph Livesey, of Walton-le-Dale and Preston, Lancashire, England.

K J.F.B. Livesay, of the Isle of Wight, came to Canada in the 1890's and founded the Canadian
Press
. He is the father of Dr. Dorothy Livesay, internationally acclaimed poet and author.

L Thomas Livesay, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Salt Lake City, Utah, who came from Rochedale,
Lancashire, England, and was the son of Thomas Livesey of Macclesfield, Cheshire, England.

M Thomas Livesey, of Liverpool, West Bradford, Yorkshire, and Lancashire, England, to
Pennsylvania then Virginia. This family is found early in Massachussetts and Illinois.

N George Livesey, of Manchester, Lancashire, England, who came to Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, in
recent years. Members of the family are found today in California and Canada.

O George Livesey, of Accrington, Lancashire, England, to Providence, Rhode Island, in 1876, where
he joined a large community of former Lancashire residents.

P Richard Livesey, of Lancashire, England, who came to the States in 1848 and settled in Buffalo, New
York. He was a yardmaster there at the time of his retirement.

Q David Livsey, who came to the States from Hedgewood Lane, Lancashire, England, and settled
in Montgomery, Kendall County, Illinois.
